The Corner Boxing Tracker Review

Over recent years, we've seen technology continue to enter and innovate the world of sport, allowing athletes to monitor their progress easily, efficiently and affordably.

And that couldn't be more true than with the Corner Boxing Tracker, one of the most affordable, yet in-depth and easy to use boxing trackers to have entered the market to date.

In this Corner Boxing Tracker review, we're going to take a closer look at what makes this one of the most highly sort after and effective boxing trackers out there.

The Boxing Tracker by Corner is the last boxing tracker you'll ever need. It features in-depth analytics, a simple interface and a build quality yet to be matched by any other competitor.

What is the Corner Boxing Tracker?

The Corner Boxing Tracker is a mobile application that works alongside two electronic trackers that are placed inside the wearers hand wraps or gloves. The mobile app is available for both IOS and Android devices and can be downloaded free of charge from the respective app stores.

The trackers then relays the information gathered in real time to the application on your device, which then presents the data in a clear and easy to digest format.

This allows both the boxer and their trainer to easily see in-depth insights into the wearers output, whether that be the number of punches thrown, the types of combinations thrown or the number of punches thrown per minute.

What’s in the Box?

Ok, so what exactly do we get for our money?

Inside the box we get the following:

  • 2 x tracker devices
  • 1 x USB charging cable, capable of charging both trackers simultaneously
  • 2 x wrist straps for the trackers to be placed

Features & Benefits of the Corner App

Right, let's take a look at some of the features that the Corner Boxing Tracker has to offer.

Great Price (Much Cheaper Than the Competition)

First and foremost, the price that the Corner Boxing Tracker is offered at is pretty damn incredible, especially when you consider that you get 2 trackers out of the box.

When you compare this to some of their competitors, such as Everlast, where you pay a similar price for only one tracker, you realise just how good of a deal this is.

I really like how Corner have included both trackers with the purchase; you wouldn't go out to buy a pair of gloves and end up buying them separately right? Nope, you wouldn't.

Simple & Easy to Use

Setting up the Corner App is an absolute breeze. You'll be greeted with an account set up, where you can enter your information such as skill level, stance, weight and height.

From here you'll have the option to either jump straight in with the "quick start" setting, or set up the number of rounds, their length and rest period with the "interval training option".

Once you begin training, the app will display the data in real time, allowing you to see where you're dropping off in-between rounds, and look to fix any problem areas going forward.

You can then easily save your session for future reference and comparison.

Plus, considering the amount of data that the Corner App can gather and display, the interface is simple and easy to figure out.

Incredibly In-depth Analytics

Another great aspect about this app in particular is the depth of its' analysis.

Pretty much any stat that you'd want to see from your work out is available. For example you can see your punches per round, speed of your punches, power and your most common combinations.

You can see this on a round by round basis, so that you're able to see the rounds where you start to fade, and can work on your cardio and endurance accordingly.

Similarly, you can see which sort of combinations you sub-consciously favour, and look to change that up as well.

Comes with Both Trackers

I touched on this when I was discussing the price, so I won't go too much into this again. That said, please, please realise how EPIC this is that it comes with both trackers.

The guys over at Corner aren't looking to rip you off, unlike other brands out there *cough* Everlast *cough*.

Sweat & Water Resistant

Due to the whole nature of these things, it's pretty damn important that these are at least sweat resistant, which of course, they are.

We all know how sweaty our wraps and gloves can get after a session down the gym, so it's pretty awesome that the trackers are designed to withstand this inevitability.

Join Up with Friends Feature Coming Soon

Wow, I can't wait for this feature to be released. This just goes to show how the app is constantly being developed and improved upon, despite being out for around 2 years now.

This feature in particular will allow you to connect with your friends and compete in weekly leaderboards. Nothing like a bit of friendly competition to elevate your training sessions right?

Pros & Cons

Ok, let's weigh up the pros and cons of the Corner Boxing Tracker. If you can't tell already, there aren't going to be many cons!

Pros

  • Insanely affordable, making this the best value for money boxing tacker out there.
  • Unlike other models (Everlast/PIQ), you get both trackers with your purchase.
  • Easy to set up, simple interface with easy to follow tutorials (anyone can use these!)
  • Great analytics, can see in-depth details about different aspects of your training on a round by round basis. I.e, speed, power, punches thrown, types of combinations and more.

Cons

  • Have to have the trackers placed correctly in order for them to work (with the white bit facing upwards and towards your arm). If you don't do this, you can ruin your work out with out realising.
  • Sometimes the data can be slightly off, but only slightly. This is true of pretty much all boxing trackers out there, so no big deal.

Corner Boxing Tracker Review: The Verdict

So, what do we make of the Corner Boxing Tracker?

Well, if you haven't guessed already, we LOVE it. For us, this really is the best boxing tracker out there, both in times of price and features.

If you're on the edge as to whether or not to get a tracker for your training sessions, I'd highly, highly recommend trying out this Tracker by Corner, you won't forget it.
