Yet, if you give this a couple good washes in cold water and spend time moving in it, you’ll break it in well enough.

We're also really impressed with the materials that were used in the making of this gi. You’ll see that they have a very lightweight material, only 350gsm. That means it’s going to be lightweight, easy to move in, and won’t leave the child a sweating mess, any more than usual anyway.

The seams are all reinforced with extra stitching, providing more protection against tearing while rolling and training. We looked at the collar and found that it has EVA rubber as one of the fabrics, making it thicker, less likely to rip, and harder to fold up and grab as a competitor.

Another great part about this gi can be found in the pants. They’re made with ripstop so that the pants aren’t likely to wear through or tear. They also have reinforced knees for spending plenty of time on them while learning and competing.

The stitching in this gi is very substantial, using a quadruple stitching method that is not seen in many other gis at all. The seams are strong all over so the pants aren’t going to split when on the mats.

The pants are pretty good, too. They have an elastic waist which isn’t our favorite thing to see in pants, but they make up for that with the addition of a a drawstring. This way kids can get themselves comfortable in their pants while also being sure that the pants aren’t going to fall down.
